Geothermal
The most common usage area of geothermal resources with a temperature of 150 °C and sufficient flow rate is electricity generation. Low 80 °C and medium temperature geothermal resources have different usage areas. The classical Lindal diagram shows the usable areas of the geothermal resource depending on the different temperatures. In recent years, the use of geothermal resources above 85 °C in electricity generation in binary cycle power plants can be added to this diagram. Geothermal sources below 20 °C are used for heating and cooling with heat pumps. Lindal diagram shows two important aspects of utilizing geothermal resources: Depending on the temperature of the used fluid, its use in a second job increases the availability of geothermal resources. b- The temperature of the geothermal source limits the possible usage area.
